Amazon-urihi 

The Landschaft 1  addresses the main interventions in the Amazonian territory during the First Republic (1889-1930).  This Landschaft confronts the assumption of the Amazon as a single territory and the collaboration of civil and military interventions to create the cartography of the Brazilian Amazon region consolidating its borders, identity, urbanization and economy. The exploration of rubber, the (i)mmigration movements and the investment in railways are the elements for the attempt to integrate the region to the national territory.
